In recent years, sachet soup has become very popular among those looking for a cheap and easy way to eat,  but do not have time to cook or eat healthy. Envelope soup is not easy to digest

Studies have shown that noodles in sachet soup remain undigested in the stomach even for two hours. It is very long compared to the time required to digest home-cooked noodles. This finding is worrying because it proves that this food has unwanted effects on digestion.

Also, noodles and envelope soup do not offer too many nutritional benefits. Instead, we consume a long list of additives.  For example, sachet contains tertiary butylhydroquinone preservative (TBHQ). This food additive stays in the stomach along with the noodles longer and can affect health.

Only 5 grams of TBHQ preservative can be fatal

Tertiary butylhydroquinone (TBHQ) is, in fact, an petroleum product. TBHQ is classified as an antioxidant. Consumers should know that, although artificial additives may have antioxidant properties, they do not have the same effect as natural antioxidants and are not beneficial to the human body. Such artificial “antioxidants” do not allow the oxidation of fats and oils. Thus, they only extend the shelf life of these soups.

TBHQ is found in most processed foods in stores, regardless of brand. In addition, it is made up of furniture varnishes, insecticides, make-up products and perfumes. In this case, TBHQ is useful because it delays evaporation and makes them more stable.

Although food additive experts say that low doses of TBHQ are not harmful to humans, it has been shown that 5 grams can be fatal. According to a Dictionary of Food Additives,  a single gram of TBHQ can cause reactions such as nausea and vomiting, ringing in the ears, delirium or suffocation.

A study published in the Journal of Nutrition found that women who ate a large amount of noodles or sachets were at a higher risk of developing metabolic syndrome compared to those who ate less of these foods. .

According to the same study, women who drank soup twice a week were 68% more likely to develop metabolic syndrome. It leads to other serious diseases such as obesity, high blood pressure, blood sugar, high triglycerides and low HDL cholesterol.

In addition, consumers of these products have lower levels of protein, calcium, phosphorus, iron, potassium, vitamins A and C compared to those who did not consume soup in an envelope. Calories, fats and sodium were also higher.

Health is maintained through a balanced diet

It is not so dangerous to occasionally eat a soup in an envelope, but  regular consumption can lead to serious health problems. It would be best to choose fresher, natural and healthier foods.
